Classic Pokemon remakes FireRed and LeafGreen re-released on Nintendo Switch.

Two Pokemon mainline classic games have been re-released for the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are now available on the Nintendo eShop.

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are the 2004 remakes to the 1996 Pokemon Red and Blue. Pokemon Yellow was different where a Pikachu follows behind.

Let's not forget the Pokemon Let's Go series. Perhaps this was Pokemon Yellow's spiritual successor.

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen can only be bought digitally with each priced at CA$ 29.99. I will reportedly support Pokemon Home integration. There is no word yet whether there will be a physical copy. Although Japan has a special edition with codes in boxes. I'm honestly on the fence whether to go ahead because I grew up playing the 1996 versions. And the battle mechanics that time was slow, clunky, and grindy. But for nostalgia's sake perhaps I will. Although it's still CA$ 29.99 and I have a lot of Pokemon games already. So do I really?

But of course if the sales are good for these re-release, that will be a good incentive for Nintendo to give us old gen Pokemon into the new-gen.
