Despite being labeled as a comedy series, Scrubs is considered the most realistic medical show of all time (Holmes, 2024) cf. (McGinley, 2020). Its portrayals about patients dealing with illnesses, grief, or death hit close as accurate according to most physicians. Personally, I found Scrubs as a remarkable slice-of-life coming-of-age series about the future, growth, and change: in a delicate dance between comedy, drama, and romance. Sometimes it's slapstick funny. Other times it hits me deep pondering about life.
