Lead your group of survivors to escape OR to boldly rebuild civilization. Scavenge for materials and reclaim nearby buildings to grow your fort/territory. You'll meet different survivors and factions which are also trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Befriend, trade, or eliminate those who oppose you in the city. Missions are carried out by your soldier, engineer, builder, sub-leaders, and scavengers; each can do any mission however they would not be as effective beside doing their class. Rebuild 3 is a game that I cannot NOT recommend. It's a fun (and romantic) game of taking back the world from the zombies by thriving -- beyond merely surviving.
